Adam Henson teams up with BFREPA to promote Eggstravaganza Packs

Television presenter and farm park curator Adam Henson is joining forces with the British Free Range Egg Producers Association (BFREPA) to promote the organisation’s school education packs.

To date more than 500 primary schools have received an Eggstravaganza Packs which contain a range of activities matching the National Curriculum.

Creating a parachute for an egg, writing short stories about hens and learning the physical properties of a shell are all included.

Adam Henson, who has invested heavily in his Cotswold Farm Park to teach the public about food and farming, will be handing out copies of the packs to farmers at the Pig & Poultry Fair in May at Stoneleigh Park.

Farmers will be encouraged to take them to their local primary school to be used as the basis for lesson plans.

“We hear a lot about how disconnected children are with where their food comes from, so the Eggstravanganza Packs show BFREPA’s commitment to teaching young people how eggs are produced,” said Alison Bone, the organisation’s secretary who created the packs.

“Activities cover physics, literature, maths and much more and have been really well received by the teachers we have supplied them to.

“We’re delighted to have Adam Henson supporting us. He is a great ambassador for communicating agriculture’s messages to the public and will pull in a crowd at the Fair.”

Adam will deliver a short speech on the BFREPA stand at 10.30 and 12.30 on 15 May before handing out packs to farmers who are keen to get them in to schools.

Those who can’t attend the show can download the packs for free here.
