Educated in Agriculture at Greenmount College in Northern Ireland, he then studied Poultry Production and Science at Harper Adams. John started his career as an Agricultural Advisor with the Scottish Government Environment & Rural Affairs Department. Opportunity then took John to work with celebrity Chef Hugh Fearnley–Whittingstall which highlighted areas of improvement in terms of broiler welfare. Seeing the need to broaden his experience further, John then took a different direction into commercial pullet rearing providing on farm support to layer farms. This was then complemented by furthering his experience by producing 36 million birds/annum across 2 regions in Saudi Arabia producing broilers for the largest broiler integrator for the domestic Alyoum brand.
