Rebecca Tonks, Farmer & CEO, St Ewe Free Range Eggs

Rebecca Tonks was born into a Cornish farming family and has a real passion for producing British food the right way! Having spent several years working in the hospitality sector in the Cotswolds, as well as running a successful bakery, Rebecca moved home to take over the reins as a Director and later CEO of the family business in 2007. Her dynamic ideas and tireless energy have completely transformed the St Ewe Free Range Eggs brand. Turnover, profitability and staff numbers have grown significantly as a result of her innovative mind and vigorous approach to efficiency. The investment of a pasteuriser has meant the company is now producing award-winning liquid egg for the catering and manufacturing industry. Her attention to quality and infectious drive has led to the St Ewe brand now adorning the shelves of the major supermarkets across the Southwest, online e-commerce heavy weights Ocado and Amazon, national wholesalers and retailers, as well as export to Hong Kong and Dubai. Such is the growing demand for St Ewe’s free-range eggs, that the company has expanded beyond what can be accommodated at the home-farm, therefore work has begun on a new multi-million £ packing centre, which will create new employment in the rural area, as well as growth for the family producer farms that supply the company with eggs and its wider supply chain.
